Haight represented one of LA’s premier law firms defending a complaint seeking $20 million for legal malpractice. The alleged malpractice arose out of our client’s representation of a wife in her divorce from the owner of a multi-million dollar pornography business. The business was awarded to the husband in a divorce proceeding dating back to 2002. The plaintiff (ex-wife) claimed that because our client failed to conduct proper and adequate investigation, she lost her purported community interest in the business.
Haight previously obtained summary judgment based on the statute of limitations. However, this was reversed on appeal and sent back to the trial court. Haight obtained an order bifurcating the trial on the statute of limitations issue. After several days of trial, Haight obtained a Judgment in favor of our client.
