Katherine “Katie” Carter is a member of the firm’s Transportation Law and General Liability Practice Groups. She primarily defends matters arising from personal injury that relate to transportation law. She also handles personal injury matters as they relate to premises liability.
Her clients include trucking and transportation companies, Fortune 500 companies, individuals, and other businesses. Katie enjoys communicating and working closely with clients and other attorneys so that she can develop effective strategies to manage and resolve matters quickly.
Katie has handled matters both in state and federal courts throughout California, and her civil defense experience encompasses managing matters in their pre-litigation stages, through research, law and motion, discovery, settlement negotiations, mediation, and even trial preparation.
After attending the University of Kansas for her undergraduate degree, Katie attended law school at the University of Southern California (USC). While in law school, Katie served as both a staffer and Managing Editor for the University of Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal. While working on the journal’s staff, Katie published a manuscript on social media and the law.
During her free time, Katie enjoys reading books, watching Survivor, and spending time with family and friends (including her two cats, Ruthie and Hazel). She also loves rooting for University of Kansas basketball and the Kansas City Chiefs.
