Mr. Brown is a Partner in the Employment and Labor Practice Group. He is a Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law by the California Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California. Mr. Brown focuses his practice exclusively in the area of workers’ compensation defense, representing insurance companies, self-insured employers, third-party administrators, K-12 school districts and community college districts in all phases of litigation from discovery through appeal. Tom has represented a wide range of employers from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.
Mr. Brown strongly believes in balancing aggressive case handling with skillful negotiation in order to provide the most appropriate and cost-effective resolution for every case. For 18 years, he has participated in numerous trials, conducted multiple depositions of applicants and physicians, and has demonstrated particular skill in utilizing the AMA Guides in deposing medical experts.
He earned his Juris Doctorate from Whittier College School of Law in 2000 and received his undergraduate degree from California State University, Fullerton in 1996. Tom also clerked for the Los Angeles District Attorney while attending law school.
Community Service
From 2016 through 2023, Tom had the honor of serving on the Board of Directors of the Orange County Children’s Book Festival and its parent company, Timeless Learning, Inc. The Orange County Children’s Book Festival is a free annual event held at Orange Coast College to encourage literacy and promote reading for children of all ages.
