Plaintiff, a 49 year old woman, claimed that the materials used on a portion of defendant hospital’s entryway created a dangerous condition causing her to trip and fall sustaining orthopedic fractures. Ms. Haskins’ client had clear video of the incident and solid legal arguments to support a Motion for Summary Judgment on the basis of trivial defect and due care. However, with trial more than a year off, Ms. Haskins initiated settlement discussions in the middle of the deposition of the plaintiff which resulted in the resolution of the matter.
