Andres De La Cruz is a member of the firm’s Appellate, Transportation Law and General Liability Practice Groups. He primarily defends matters arising from personal injury that can be catastrophic in nature and relate to transportation law. He also handles product liability matters arising from design defect and failure to warn claims.
His clients include trucking and transportation companies, product manufacturers, Fortune 500 companies, individuals and other businesses. Andres enjoys communicating and working closely with his clients as he develops effective strategies to manage and resolve matters expeditiously.
Andres handles matters in state and federal courts throughout California and his civil defense experience includes managing his matters from pre-litigation analysis through research, law and motion, discovery, settlement negotiations, mediation, arbitration and trial preparation. He continues to expand his litigation experience while taking and defending depositions of plaintiffs, percipient witnesses, experts and corporate representatives.
While in law school, Andres externed for Chief Judge Philip S. Gutierrez of the United States District Court for the Central District of California and Justice Sabrina S. McKenna of the Hawaiʻi Supreme Court. He was an oralist for the Southwestern Moot Court Honors Program and a staffer and associate editor for the Southwestern Law Review. He also served as Co-President of his law school’s Latino Law Students Association and was a Senior Writing Fellow at the Southwestern Writing Center. Following law school, Andres completed a one-year clerkship with Chief Judge Michael P. Gibbons of the Nevada Court of Appeals.
During his free time, Andres enjoys spending time with family and friends, looking for new places to eat all over Los Angeles, and golfing and cycling. He enjoys cheering on the Lakers, Dodgers, and UCLA sports teams and collecting sneakers and vintage clothing. Andres frequently seeks out opportunities to mentor law students and aspiring attorneys.
