Austin Smith is a member of the firm’s Transportation Law, Product Liability, and General Liability Practice Groups. He is experienced in all aspects of litigation, including case evaluation and strategy, law and motion practice, discovery and depositions, mediations, settlement negotiations, trial preparation and trial.
He focuses his practice on a variety of matters involving personal injury, premises liability, products liability, public entity, transportation and trucking claims. Mr. Smith defends major transportation companies, national retailers, product manufacturers, and commercial property owners against claims involving serious personal injury and death.
Before joining Haight as a law clerk, Mr. Smith graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and Economics with an emphasis in Pre-Law. Upon graduation, he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Thereafter, Mr. Smith returned home to Los Angeles to attend the Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California. During law school, Mr. Smith served as the Managing Editor of the Southern California Review of Law and Social Justice.
In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, watching college football and coaching his alma mater’s high school mock trial team.
