Evan Kalooky is a member of the firm’s Construction Law, Employment & Labor and General Liability Practice Groups. He focuses on defending complex, high exposure cases related to construction law, premises liability, general liability and other intentional tort and contract claims as well as employment and labor related matters.
Evan’s clients include contractors, subcontractors, insurance companies, national and regional retailers and hospitality companies, and other businesses and individuals.
Evan is an accomplished litigator with substantial trial experience, but realizes the importance of resolving litigation promptly for his clients through meaningful discovery, law and motion, negotiation and effective communication. He has successfully litigated matters throughout State and Federal courts during all phases of case handling, including pre-litigation evaluation, investigation and discovery, motion practice, mediation, arbitration and trial. He routinely takes and defends depositions including plaintiffs, percipient witnesses and expert witnesses in scientific, construction and medical fields.
Prior to joining Haight, Evan worked at a civil defense firm where he defended clients in matters primarily involving general liability, medical negligence, and elder abuse and neglect.
Community Service
Evan is a member of the San Diego Defense Lawyers and was previously on the Board of Directors and the Editor-in-Chief of its periodical, The Update. Evan supports local homeless organizations and enjoys spending time with his family, attending concerts and sporting events, and playing soccer.
