In a wrongful death matter, a grandchild does not have standing as a plaintiff when the decedent’s child is not only the living heir, but is also a plaintiff in the wrongful death matter, and the grandchild is neither a surviving spouse, child, putative spouse, child of a putative spouse, stepchild or parent of the decedent. It is only in these specific categories, and when dependence is established, that Code of Civil Procedure ยง377.60 (b) may be invoked.
