Plaintiff claimed permanent injury as a result of spinal surgery performed by defendant physician after which one of the eight screws placed in the procedure was determined to not be in optimal position and required a return to surgery to remove the malpositioned screw which had allegedly caused neurological damage. Ms. Haskins was able to coordinate a mediation where all parties to this multifaceted action agreed to participate and a global confidential settlement was achieved within sixteen months of the filing date and prior to the retention of damage experts.
